To protect the princess, the King ordered all the spinning wheels in the kingdom to be destroyed and hid Aurora in a secluded castle deep in the forest, where she was raised by three good fairies.
On Aurora’s 16th birthday, while exploring the castle, she came across a spinning wheel and pricked her finger, just as Maleficent had predicted. She fell into a deep sleep, and the good fairies cast a spell to put the entire kingdom to sleep until she was awakened by true love’s kiss.
Many years passed, and a brave prince heard about the sleeping princess and set out to find her. He fought his way through the forest and battled Maleficent, who had turned into a dragon, to reach the castle. When he found Aurora, he was enchanted by her beauty and leaned in to give her a kiss.
True love’s kiss broke the spell, and Aurora woke up. The kingdom also woke up from its sleep, and the prince and Aurora were married in a grand ceremony. They lived happily ever after, and Maleficent’s curse was forever lifted from the kingdom.
